What is a CVV2? CVV2 numbers are included on all Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards is the last 5 years. They are provided as an extra security measure to help prevent fraud. The CVV2 number is not part of your regular credit card number, so anyone who has only your credit card number cannot guess your CVV2. Depending on the card you will see either the full 16-digit card number plus an extra three digits separated by a space, or you will see only a three-digit number.
